MICHELANGELO SCHOLAR PUBLISHING LIMITED (MSPL) was registered in Hong Kong on January 17th, 2023. MSPL is an Open Access(OA)scholarly publishing platform for designers and related researchers. MSPL is primarily engaged in the publication of international English-language journals, dedicated to research in design, architecture, and art. Our ultimate goal is to strive for global leadership in these fields. MSPL's four journals are as follows: the Journal of Design Service and Social Innovation (JDSSI), the Journal of Ancient Chinese Arts and Crafts (JACAC), the Journal of Architecture and Urban Design (JAUD), and the Design History(DH), which reflect the latest research in their fields and are accessible worldwide in print and online. In addition, MSPL provides a waiver on Article Processing Charges (APCs) for all authors.
MSPL will comply with the principles of transparency and best practice of scholarly publications established by organizations such as the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), DOAJ, the Open Access Scholarly Publishing Association (OASPA), and the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME). The transparency and best practice principles of scholarly publishing apply to all published content in MSPL journals and transparently communicate the scholarly evaluation and publication procedures followed by the journals.
MSPL is committed to the principle of open access and has a responsibility to promote the accessibility, diversity, fairness, and inclusivity of the journal articles on our website, thereby promoting social progress and cultural diversity. The editors of MSPL journals will also adhere to the basic principles of scholarly ethics and academic values first, and will handle manuscripts based on scholarly standards and a neutral attitude. The editors will not be influenced by the source of the manuscript, including the nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, or religion of the authors. MSPL is committed to building a digital scholarly community with a high reputation and equality. MSPL does not collaborate with any commercial investment companies to avoid the phenomenon of academic research being manipulated.
JAUD is a scholarly platform for architectural design, urban design, urban culture and other fields. Through our rigorous peer-review and open access publishing programs, JAUD plays a crucial role in shaping future urban environments and architectural practices. JAUD supports interdisciplinary research and shared expertise, enabling the co-creation of solutions that address global urban development and planning issues. We invite researchers, practitioners, and students to contribute, collaborate, and share their insights to shape the future of built environments. JACAC is a scholarly platform dedicated to the dissemination of ancient Chinese arts and crafts culture, covering the fields of ancient Chinese painting, sculpture, calligraphy, handicrafts, and so on. JACAC aims to share the arts and crafts culture, thought, and theory of ancient China, disseminate the brilliant achievements of ancient Chinese arts and crafts, promote the study of ancient Chinese arts and crafts culture, and strive to be in the leading position in this field. Scholarly papers submitted to JACAC may also include research on art and craft design in the context of historical exchange and cultural transmission between East and West.

JDSSI covers the fields of design service, social innovation, and business strategy, and is a scholarly platform dedicated to the study of design issues and the exploration of social innovation service approaches. JDSSI aims to share innovative design ideas and solutions, explore issues such as sustainable design and consumer services, and promote design for harmonious social development and multicultural exchange, with a particular focus on the dissemination of design theories and ideas between East and West across cultures. JDSSI strives to be at the forefront of promoting design research and innovative practices.

Design History(DH) is a scholarly platform dedicated to exploring the diverse realms of design history, theory, and culture. DH promotes innovative design concepts and historical scholarship, analyzing the evolution of design and consumer culture while fostering cross-cultural dialogue, with a particular focus on design’s profound impact on everyday life. DH advances the forefront of design history, aiming to shape global research trends. We warmly invite interdisciplinary scholars to submit papers, igniting fresh perspectives in design history and theory.

MSPL's editorial teams are distributed across Hong Kong, mainland China, Malaysia, and beyond. We have no traditional headquarters tower, no fixed clock-in routine. Instead, we rely on a remote collaboration system anchored by shared offices and professional corporate secretarial services.
