Abstract: This study aims to evaluate the impact of community parks in Xiamen on promoting physical activity among older adults. The study employs the Community Park Audit Tool (CPAT) to assess 15 community parks on Xiamen Island. A total of 45 elderly participants were randomly selected to complete the CPAT questionnaire. Data collection focused on four key areas: park information, access and surrounding neighborhoods, park activity areas, and park quality and safety. These findings indicate that well-maintained community parks significantly increase physical activity levels among older adults. Specifically, natural features, diverse activity areas, safety measures, and aesthetic elements promote the health of older adults. The CPAT assessment results revealed that Gaolin Park (No.7) received the highest score, indicating its positive role in promoting physical activity among elderly individuals, whereas Meiren Park (No.9) received the lowest score, suggesting that improvement is needed to better meet the needs of the elderly and enhance their health. The CPAT provides valuable insights for urban planners and decision-makers to optimize the design and management of community parks, thereby better meeting the needs of older adults and promoting their health and well-being.

Abstract: Macau, renowned for its unique blend of Chinese and Western cultural influences, occupies a distinctive position in global cultural heritage. However, the challenges posed by rapid urbanization necessitate innovative approaches to preserve and reimagine its Cantonese Opera and historical architectural heritage. This study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining case studies and questionnaire surveys to investigate the incorporation of Cantonese Opera artistry and architectural elements into the design of contemporary cultural and creative commodities. The research highlights the transformative potential of cultural heritage when reimagined through a modern design language that harmonizes traditional cultural identity with contemporary aesthetic and functional needs. The findings reveal strategic approaches for incorporating the visual and narrative elements of Cantonese Opera and the historical architectural features of Macau into product design, thereby promoting public engagement with and appreciation of Macau’s cultural legacy. By developing culturally enriched and market-oriented products, this study promotes the dual objectives of heritage preservation and the expansion of the cultural and creative industries. Also, the research proposes a novel framework for integrating cultural and design practices, addressing the intricate balance between tradition and innovation within a rapidly modernizing urban context. The findings highlight the potential of creative design to revitalize cultural heritage, ensuring its relevance and sustainability in the contemporary era.

Abstract: The community-embedded elderly care system in China integrates the advantages of home-based and institutional care, leveraging digital technologies and innovative service models to meet the diverse needs of elderly individuals. However, existing embedded elderly care service systems face challenges, such as service singularity and insufficient functional coverage, making it difficult to meet the increasingly complex demands of elderly individuals. This study adopts the Dongfang Elderly Care Home in Wuhan as a case study focus and employs service design methods. Through semi-structured interviews, user personas were constructed to identify user characteristics and core needs. A stakeholder map was created to categorize and clarify the roles and needs of core users, internal operational staff, and external partners. The study systematically analyses the needs of elderly individuals, service providers, and other stakeholders, providing a theoretical foundation for system development. In addition, a collaborative model that integrates community service centers, embedded nursing homes, and medical centers is proposed. The study also develops an embedded elderly care service system framework centered on the Haha Elderly Assistance App. By utilizing internet-based data-sharing technologies, this study optimizes information transmission efficiency, enhances the diversity of service functions, and, in turn, strengthens the psychological security and health of elderly individuals. Through the integration of service design and digital technology, this research promotes the systematic, standardized, and convenient development of community-embedded elderly care services, providing theoretical support and practical guidance for the innovative construction of high-quality urban community elderly care services.
